A Steadfast Heart
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.”
~Lam. 3:22-23
King David declares his own steadfast heart.
Then, he sings and makes music.
David’s heart is so filled with love for God,
he cannot help but to sing and make music.
“My heart is steadfast, O God,
My heart is steadfast;
I will sing and make music.”
~Psalm 57
As Christian musicians, our hearts must be steadfast for Jesus Christ.
Then, we can truly sing and play from our hearts for the glory of God.
Most musicians agree that the life of an artist does not quite fit a ‘normal life’.
Hours of tedious practicing, lessons, auditions, a narcissistic stand partner,
jobs, rushing to and fro, crazy hours, boarding airplanes with your instrument,
on and on…
In this insane arena,
~How do we develop and maintain a steadfast heart?
~How does our music come forth from our single-purpose hearts?
