Founders
Patrick and Barbara Kavanaugh
have had a lifetime mission from God to bring the Gospel into the performing arts world. For many years, they proclaimed Christ with the Asaph Ensemble in Washington, D. C. From 1997 to 2016, Patrick, with Barbara at his side, directed the MasterWorks Festival. After retiring from this organization in 2016, they began SDGMM and Cafe Jubalatte, the third stage of their lives’ work.
A note from Barbara:
The Triune God worshipped in the Christian Church is the God who created music. The 20th and 21st Centuries have seen an ever-widening divide between the Church and classical performing artists, a divide which God never intended. Consequently, Christian musicians all too often struggle to understand how to best serve God in their artistic vocation.
My mission continues after the unexpected death of my beloved Patrick in April, 2018.
Statement of Faith
The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God,

the Father almighty,

Creator of heaven and earth,

and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,

who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

born of the Virgin Mary,

suffered under Pontius Pilate,

was crucified, died and was buried;

he descended into hell;

on the third day he rose again from the dead;

he ascended into heaven,

and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty;

from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,

the holy catholic Church,

the communion of saints,

the forgiveness of sins,

the resurrection of the body,

and life everlasting.
